What a Woman

Food, flowers, music and more were all set to the unique tastes of Donna Cone at the annual Woman of the Year Gala. The award is given annually by Women and Children First: The Center Against Family Violence to recognize an outstanding woman in Arkansas. Celebrating Donna were speakers Herren Hickingbotham, Druann Baskin, George O'Connor and Elizabeth Cone. DJ Williams spoke of his time in the shelter and it was hard to find a dry eye in the house. The night raised about $180,000 and proceeds will go toward kitchen renovation at the shelter.

Belles Rang Loud

The Jingle Belles Bash, a party hosted by a committee of local young women, threw their annual holiday bash this year at Pavilion in the Park. The Bash, held to benefit Centers for Youth and Famiilies, featured a spread from Trio's, adult beverages by Glazer's, and a hopping dance floor. The party raised record money and boasted record attendance.
