AMFA’s Eclipse Extravaganza with Dr. Victoria Ramirez
As the region anticipates the upcoming Total Solar Eclipse on April 8, AMFA is hosting a week-long celebration that merges art, culture, and the celestial spectacle. Beginning April 2, the Museum will present an array of activities ranging from a special edition of Happy Hour & Moore and captivating movie screenings to engaging art classes and other lunar-inspired programming.
The apex of the festivities is the Eclipse Viewing Party on April 8, where guests will enjoy prime views of the Total Solar Eclipse from AMFA’s scenic Crescent Lawn. Featuring music mixed by a live DJ and special performances by Ballet Arkansas, guests will party under the Eclipse in style! Food and beverages created specifically for the event by AMFA’s Park Grill will also be available.
The Museum will be open, allowing guests time to explore sun, moon, and celestial-inspired works of art on view in the galleries using AMFA’s Audio Guide.
Through April 12, guests are also encouraged to indulge in even more eclipse-themed culinary delights and cocktails at AMFA’s Park Grill.
“These programs aren’t just a celebration of the celestial phenomenon; they’re a testament to the Museum’s commitment to fostering a vibrant and relevant cultural landscape in Central Arkansas,” says Ramirez. “We want to create an atmosphere where guests can have conversations about art and relevant moments.”
