“555 Compacts”

An Exhibit Featuring the Collection of Chris Opp and

a Compact History of Makeup in 20th Century America

OCTOBER 17 – JANUARY 26

Join ESSE Museum & Store for “555 Compacts: An Exhibit Featuring the Collection of Chris Opp and a Compact History of Makeup in 20th Century America” opening on October 17 and running through January 26. Multimedia and mural artist Chris Opp graciously donated his 555 compacts to ESSE and we want to share this incredible collection with you!

In our contemporary landscape with makeup tutorials on-demand online and the latest palettes available from the drugstore to large beauty retailers, it may come as a surprise that makeup has not always been a style staple for the American woman. Take a quick trip through the 20th century with iconic cosmetic styles throughout the decades from enamel foundations to electric rouge and beyond!

On opening night, October 17, visit ESSE from 5pm – 9pm for a Fashion Extravaganza celebrating our latest exhibit as well as three amazingly talented creators who call Arkansas home: Fashion Designer Korto Momolu, Handbag Designer Bryant Phelan of OFaolain, and Stylist and Accessories Designer Bruce Brown of TRIBE aes-the-tic.

Straight from the NYFW runway, Korto Momolu, Bryant Phelan, and Bruce Brown are back to present a stunning high-fashion trunk show at the ESSE Museum. Celebrating style and innovation, these three creatives aim to offer local fashion enthusiasts a sneak peek into their NY Fashion Week experience. Attendees can expect to be dazzled by the unique designs and meticulous craftsmanship that each designer brings to the table. The event will also include opportunities for guests to interact with the designers, gaining insight into their creative processes and the inspirations behind their latest collections. With each purchase, attendees will not only be supporting these talented designers but also contributing to the local fashion community.

This is a limited-capacity, ticketed extravaganza. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online at essepursemuseum.com or in person at ESSE.

ESSE Museum & Store is located at 1510 Main St. in the SoMa District of Little Rock, Arkansas.

Tickets for the Museum are $10 for general admission, $8 for students, seniors and military.
