Marnie Oldner, director of Stone Bank, will soon take the stage as one of the co-chairs of this year’s Power of the Purse luncheon and fundraiser, alongside Shamim Okolloh, vice president and community outreach officer at Encore Bank. Hosted by and benefiting the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas (WFA), the 26th annual event will be held Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Little Rock’s Statehouse Convention Center.
Marnie’s impressive career spans four decades, during which she served as CEO, CFO and president of Stone Bank, grew the bank’s assets from $65 million to more than $750 million and blazed an inspiring trail of excellence and success in banking for other women to follow.
Beyond her corporate achievements, Marnie is deeply committed to advancing the role of women in finance and STEAM careers through her involvement with the WFA. Some of the organization’s key initiatives, such as Save10 and the Women’s Economic Mobility Hub (WEM Hub), are designed to advance women’s economic empowerment and spur their career growth — goals that resonate deeply with Marnie’s mission.
Presented by Arkansas Children’s, the annual Power of the Purse recognizes the achievements of Arkansas women who have made significant contributions to their communities and industries and raises vital funds to support WFA’s impactful programs. This year’s honorees include:
- Woman of the Year in Business – Lenore Trammell, chief compliance officer, general counsel and chief administrative officer at U. S. Steel’s Big River Steel
- Woman of the Year in Public Service – Dr. Nirvana Manning, professor and chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS)
- Woman of the Year in Philanthropy – Cathy Tuggle, owner and principal broker of Apartment Hunters and Arkansas Suites
