Bo Ryall | Master of Public Administration | President/CEO at Arkansas Hospital Association
I was employed full-time in a government position and seeking an opportunity to pursue a master’s degree in public administration. I met with the chair of the public administration program at the time and was immediately impressed with his knowledge of state government and his interest in my professional development. I wanted to be a part of a program that not only offered challenging coursework but supported my professional goals. The program offered those elements, while also allowing me to pursue the degree through classes at night.
UA Little Rock accelerated my career by not only providing me with an excellent education but also by adding the degree to my resume, which has helped me stand out at every step of my career. The subject matter in the papers written and the coursework continues to be a source of knowledge called upon in every position I have held. Each career advancement considered was bolstered by having this degree from UA Little Rock. I would say the return on investment of time and cost has been recouped many times over.
The professors in the MPA program were incredibly supportive of me as I looked to add an additional degree while working full-time. Being able to find that type of support from the faculty and have it continued throughout your career is special. We recently held a reunion of all classes of the MPA program recognizing its 50th year. It made me realize how many friends I have made through UA Little Rock and the great network that has been created for all those graduates.
