“I have had two stints at UA Little Rock. When I first went to UA Little Rock, I didn’t have a career path in mind. For a brief period, I thought I wanted tobe a lawyer – so I chose political science. After roughly ten years with the State of Arkansas, including a term with Governor Mike Beebe’s Office, and a handful of small residential construction projects my father and I did on the side, I realized I had an interest in construction. After visiting with colleagues and friends in the construction industry, it became clear I needed to pursue a degree in construction management to begin my second career. From numerous conversations, the UA Little Rock program and faculty both received glowing reviews and I enrolled in 2008. Having two degrees from such a reputable institution brings not only credibility to my professional portfolio but has also offered a strategic advantage as I continue to grow in this career. Sometimes the best option is the one right there closest to home. UA Little Rock offers a quality education experience and it’s convenient. I worked a full-time job while I pursued this new path. I’ll always be grateful for the opportunities UA Little Rock gaveme and would encourage others to explore its programs. UA Little Rock and the construction management program go beyond just providing an education for students; the faculty invest time and energy into helping students, just like me, find quality jobs. Almost 13 years ago, they were instrumental in facilitating a meeting with Clark Contractors, which is where I remain to this day. For that, UA Little Rock will always have my gratitude.”
