JD – William H. Bowen School of Law
I was headed to another college in the state and, right before it was time to start packing, UA Little Rock offered me a scholarship opportunity that I could not refuse. By choosing UA Little Rock, I was able to graduate debt free. When I entered UA Little Rock I thought I wanted to go to medical school, but I did a complete 180 and realized that I wanted to go to law school. When it came time to choose, the Bowen School of Law was an easy decision. I wanted to work a full-time job while attending law school and the part-time program at Bowen allowed me to do just that.
My UA Little Rock education prepared me for working in the research field at UAMS, by day, while attending law school at night. My undergraduate and law school studies allowed me to mesh my two primary interests, science, and the law, culminating in my decision to obtain a license to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, after obtaining law licenses in Arkansas and Tennessee. Every day I use the research, analytical, and writing skills I acquired while attending UA Little Rock to assist with the analyzing of case law, writing of legal briefs, and reviewing legislation.
While attending UA Little Rock, I had the opportunity to develop professional relationships that have lasted throughout my life. I also learned the importance of mentorship and I strive to be a meaningful mentor to those that I have worked to help during my career.
