Kimberly Opper
Euronet
Documentation Manager & Technical Writer
DAY AT WORK
Technical writing for software is collaborative, so there are quick, informal check-ins throughout the day with my writing team to discuss our projects, and with our various subject matter experts to gather information. Beyond that, there are no typical days. I outline upcoming writing projects and attend product design reviews or new product training sessions. And I drink copious amounts of coffee!.
BEGINNING INTERESTS
Although I always wanted to be a writer, technical writing was never on my radar until I started working for Euronet. About 18 months into the job, I said to myself, ‘Wait a minute. Writing about software is interesting!’ That is when I knew I had found my niche.
LOVE THIS WORK
The people! I am privileged to spend my workdays surrounded by the best and brightest minds in the industry. My co-workers consistently bowl me over with their creativity, innovative ideas, and can-do attitudes. I learn something new from them every single day. They are also the kindest and funniest individuals you will ever meet.
ADVCE
Be persistent. Be tenacious. Be loud.
