Can you remember a season where denim trends weren’t foremost on fashion minds? After all, denim never goes out of style. It is THE essential in our closets. This fall is no different and I’m psyched about the looks. Styles are embracing a mix of nostalgia with a kick of innovative designs.
Wide leg jeans are making a strong comeback – offering a relaxed and comfortable fit, but still classic in structure creating a more tailored look. This style tends to be a higher waistline which creates a sleek look with a crop top; a meet and greet – where hemline of top meets the waistband of denim or a tailored blazer.
Denim on denim is having a huge moment. The Canadian tuxedo look, where suiting head-to-toe in matching denim, takes the guess work out of choosing a fabulous way to style denim. Don’t’ stop there. Pair an oversized denim shirt with a dark straight pair of jeans; VOILA! Don’t fret over denims not matching – mix it up, girls!
Comfort and a vintage vibe are key with the high-waisted and baggy fit trend that is THE look for fall. Be mindful of top, blouse and jacket choices with this jean style. Know your proportions and don’t veer from them. This is a look that could go terribly wrong if not careful.
And don’t forget about the denim skirt. It’s versatile; it can be dressed up or down, often with asymmetrical hems and unique detailing. Longer skirts are center stage. Pair with a favorite leather bomber to elevate the look.
Denim down the pike? Lower rise and maybe a skinny style or two.
