The Arkansas Derby is a Grade 1 Thoroughbred horse race held annually at Oaklawn Park, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. It is run at a distance of 1 1/8 miles (9 furlongs) on dirt. The race is a significant prep race for the Kentucky Derby, occurring five weeks prior to the “Run for the Roses”. The purse for the 2025 race was $1.5 million.
