What’s not to love?
It’s a party in blue jeans with lots of camaraderie.
Both ladies have been involved with Blue Jeans & Bubbles since its inception at the encouragement of friends. “Gerald Thomas invited me to the inaugural event,” Selyna Buie remembers. “Landrey White helped start Blue Jeans & Bubbles; she asked my husband’s band The O-Matics to play and encouraged me to join the committee,” Zoë Dell adds. Now, in its fifth year – they will welcome friends and patrons to the Rusty Tractor Vineyards for an unforgettable evening.
It’s a relaxed, festive atmosphere with music and more. “Guests can look forward to a signature drink from Arkansas-owned Delta Dirt Distillery, tasty food from Black Mamba BBQ, and so much more,” Zoë elaborates. Live entertainment by The O-Matics is a favorite; on-site screening print is new this year. “This adds some fun along with unique photo ops. You’ll be posting cute pics for weeks!” Selyna admits Champagne is her beverage of choice. “I hope to enjoy plenty of it while celebrating and meeting our goal to provide 5,000 free nights to families.”
Proceeds from the evening’s festivities support Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas & North Louisiana, an organization that provides a
home away from home for families of critically ill children. The organization has served more than 48,000 families. The Ronald McDonald House boasts 32,000 square feet and features 32 family-suites as well as a spacious kitchen, dining room, playroom, and outdoor play spaces. With a finite focus on keeping families together and near a child in one of Little Rock’s hospitals, the house offers these amenities free to families, regardless of ability to pay.
Selyna and Zoë agree, keeping families together and alleviating financial considerations are paramount. Zoë elaborates, “We live in such a rural state – for many families getting medical care means traveling far from home. That’s where Ronald McDonald House makes an incredible difference.” Selyna notes, “This takes away a lot of stress, emotionally and financially, by covering things like a place to sleep, meals and support. It really keeps families together when they need it most.”
Whether relaxed or rigid, skinny or straight – favorite blue jeans are the preferred attire for the trendiest gathering of the season. This dynamic duo guarantees it’s a time to make new friends + a difference in lives of fellow Arkansans. Selyna insists, “It’s a great place to vibe and network, but also connect with others under a common goal and theme … philanthropy.”
