Dare to Dream … This elegant evening at the Evolve Gala reflects the continued commitment of Centers for Youth & Families to all Arkansans. Providing comprehensive, integrated care that promotes physical, emotional and social wellness is something we can all embrace. Chairmen Sandra and Jon Marbaise will welcome friends and patrons to a celebration of the organization’s mission fulfillment and the Champions of Hope.
The Marbaise family reconnected with Centers for Youth & Families through the Champions of Hope program. Sandra recalls, “Our son Ethan participated; we were so impressed with the volunteer opportunities and the positive impact the program has on the community.” She remembers support through the years, but the tangible results – for Ethan and The Centers – sealed the deal. “We were hooked!” They have helped in leadership roles as well as the fundamentals. “We do pretty much anything they need us to do – even if it’s dropping off pizza to the kids for a special night.”
Sandra remains impressed with the legacy of Centers for Youth & Families. It is the oldest continuously operating nonprofit organization in Arkansas. From its beginning as the Children’s Aid Society to The Centers that serves the state’s most vulnerable residents, the vision remains steadfast – building healthy children, families and communities. “It started in 1814 and became an orphanage in 1907. They have a long history of caring for children.” Special Events Officer Madalyn Jacobs adds, “There are 5,000 children, youth and adults that benefit from our services.” This continuum of care includes child + adolescent residential care, therapeutic foster care, day treatment programs, substance use treatment programming, prevention services, outpatient counseling, and a 24/7/365 crisis hotline.
Proceeds from the Evolve Gala support these programs and resources. Madalyn elaborates, “This year’s enchanting theme, Dare to Dream, is inspired by our history of helping children dare to dream of their full potential.” With a masquerade twist, guests are encouraged to unleash the magic and mystique of transformation. “It’s a reminder that behind every mask is a unique story waiting to be revealed.” It will be a fun-filled night featuring the Rodney Block Collective. A highlight will be the presentation of 44 young men who have completed a year of service through the Champions of Hope program as well as the Hero of Hope Mark Allison. Sandra notes there are so many people responsible for cultivating a healthier future in Arkansas. “We have seen others before us that worked to make a contribution, it touched our hearts and inspired us to follow in their footsteps.”
