“I am most proud that whenever we play, our guys always perform well. We don’t back down from the moment. We attack the moment. They are never nervous and they seem to always do their best, even when the spotlight is the brightest. We represented the university and the city so well.”

In an unprecedented postseason performance, Little Rock Trojan Baseball pushed Louisiana State University to an exciting 10-6 loss at Alex Box Stadium in the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional Final.

The program captured international attention in an upset against the perennial powerhouse LSU and forced an additional game. The remarkable road to the NCAA Regional Final for Little Rock included winning five games in four days at the OVC Tournament after a less than successful finish to the season. Under the leadership of Coach Chris Curry, the 2025 Little Rock Trojans have become one of the more beloved teams in Trojan Athletic history.

Coach Curry shares insight …

MOST SURPRISING

How quickly it can change and how much attention you can get by just having a very, very good two weeks. It’s well documented that we had struggled through injuries and not playing well through the regular season. But then we get healthy, start winning, go to regionals and win against LSU, Dallas Baptist and Rhode Island. The entire perception of the program, the players, and everything changed in about 10 days. I knew that could happen, I just thought it would take longer on a national level.

MOST IMPRESSIVE

LSU Baton Rouge is a traditionally rich program in college baseball. Just from the national championship standpoint, it’s arguably the hardest place to play in all of college baseball. Teams just don’t go in there and win. For our players to do what they did and win that game, then take LSU to the brink of winning the super regional was historic – especially considering we never won a game in regionals before that weekend. Once we got through game one where they beat us 7-0, our players were no longer intimidated. We prepared our guys to play well in the big moments, and it was fun that they did it.

RECRUITING

On the bus ride home for Baton Rouge, we spent six hours on the phone texting and direct messaging players that we’ve never had access to or never knew about our program that saw our game. The Little Rock – LSU game was on of the most watched regional tournament of all time. Because of that, so many people saw us, how we play and who we are. We’ve been able to really connect with some high-level players that want to be a part of a program that has grit and toughness but also develops their players. I’m excited about the caliber of players we can draw into Little Rock.

Notable fact: The 1.1 million viewers of the Little Rock – LSU game is the second most watched game in NCAA Regional history.
