Stephanie Wilcox
Stephanie Wilcox started as a volunteer with Immerse Arkansas in 2017, serving meals at the youth center. She was invited to join the Board of Directors in 2023 and now serves as a key member of the leadership team planning the organization’s expansion into Northwest Arkansas as well as chairman of the development committee.
Immerse Arkansas serves youth in crisis; these young adults live at the Little Rock shelter or utilize the youth center. Some have aged out of foster care, run away from home, escaped human trafficking or experienced homelessness. Providing access to showers, laundry and healthy meals is just part of the organization’s mission fulfillment work. Mentorship programs, life skill classes, educational and employment support, and community activities are additional resources.
The results are measurable. Stephanie explains, “Every year, Immerse Arkansas serves more than 400 youth from crisis situations, equipping them with tools they need to enter adulthood. We get to see lives changed for the better every day.” Stephanie and her husband, Kevin, helped fund a campaign in 2024 that raised more than $1 million dollars for Immerse. Her commitment includes time with the youth – even organizing her church group to serve the very first meal at The Station, the first shelter for young adults ages 18 – 24. “Stephanie’s kindness and enthusiasm bring joy to our youth, staff volunteers, and supporters,” says Immerse Arkansas Director of Generosity Ashely Hooten.
Stephanie and Kevin also support the university of Arkansas with significant support of the Land of Opportunity Scholarship Fund and the Advance Arkansas Scholarship Initiative. “Stephanie is a philanthropist in every sense of the word. Board of Director President Tanner Mezcal explains. “She consistently and passionately shares the story of Immerse, opening doors to key relationships, and embodying the kind of community outreach and networking we all aspire to.”
