Mayor of Searcy Mat Faulkner believes that Unity Health Foundation embodies “the highest ideals of volunteerism, compassion, and civic duty.” To date, the foundation has raised more than $1 million for Unity Health medical centers across Cleburne, Jackson, Lonoke, Pulaski, and White Counties.
Unity Health Foundation was established in 1997 as an auxiliary group to the Unity Health System. More than 100 volunteers have collectively dedicated 385,691 hours of service, making the foundation an integral part of the hospital’s success. Director of Volunteer Services Jamie Laughlin says, “Our volunteers are vital members of the Unity Health family. Whether raising funds to invest in the care of our patients, or dedicating thousands of hours of service, they directly impact the patient experience and provide support to associates. They recognize the importance of local hospitals and are passionate about supporting their needs.”
The foundation has pledged support over the next three years to Unity Health’s neonatal intensive care unit. Previous accomplishments include an inpatient rehabilitation gym, enhancements to the New Life Nursery, and a da Vinci Surgical System. Impact extends beyond the Unity Health System; a partnership with the Arkansas Blood Institute increased blood donations by 20% in 2025.
Unity Health Foundation created a scholarship endowment through the Arkansas Community Foundation. This year, Unity Health Foundation will award 29 scholarships to the children of Unity Health employees who are graduating from high school and pursuing college or trade school education. This reinvestment back into the people of central Arkansas truly reflects Unity Health Foundation: serving the community and improving the health of Arkansans.
