Kroger has a legacy of community service. With a vision – to feed the human spirit – Kroger continues to evolve to meet the needs of local communities. One of its boldest initiatives includes bringing balanced meals to families and improving food security for all Americans. Through strategic partnerships with hunger relief organizations, Kroger effectively secures safe, fresh products that it quickly donates to distribution outlets across 35 states. In Arkansas, the Arkansas Foodbank receives not only resources to feed hungry families, but the time + energy of the Kroger volunteers who invest in the mission of ending food insecurity.

The results are measurable. Arkansas Foodbank utilized 1,150,000 pounds of food donated in 2018 – more than 960,000 meals – in Central and Southern Arkansas last year. Arkansas Foodbank Chief Development Officer Sarah Riffle adds, “Kroger truly embodies what we at the foodbank define as a partner. They donate food and resources, their employees donate their time and they believe whole-heartedly in our mission. We are grateful for their commitment to fighting hunger alongside us each and every day.”
