Established through shared values, the Simple Nest continues to serve charitable organizations with essential home furnishings that support families and foster wellness. Becky Norris and Rhea Middleton, alongside Prayer Partner Cathy Alexander, will welcome friends to FURNISH next month – a celebration of design and generosity.

The Simple Nest operates an expansive showroom that is not only a retail hub but also a sanctuary for giving, where gently used furniture finds new purpose in homes that need it most. Cathy was introduced to the Simple Nest through a community bible study. “Serving in woman’s ministry for 25 years allowed me to grow in my faith and form deep friendships. It has been my great honor and joy to cover in prayer every decision concerning our mission.” She notes the Prayer Chapel at the Simple Nest is available to the community at large. “We encourage anyone to write a prayer request and hang it on the wall; every single request is prayed over by our team.” It’s a daily reminder to help nurture and encourage fellow Arkansans.

FURNISH, the signature fundraising event, returns with great anticipation. The showroom will be transformed into an immersive experience; sales and proceeds support the organization’s mission. A ticketed preview party will showcase stunning designer-curated vignettes. “It’s a unique blend of donated furniture available for purchase, which benefits our ministry partners.” Cathy explains this helps FURNISH spaces for The CALL, Dorcas House and Providence Park among other organizations. The CALL Development Director Jill Bobo elaborates, “The Simple Nest donates tangible items for our 38 support centers across the state. It’s an innovative way to provide comfort to our families and foster children.”

A native Texan, Cathy recognizes the generosity of fellow Arkansans and a shared devotion for the Natural State.  “I have witnessed neighbors and friends supporting each other through difficult times.” For more than 40 years, Cathy and her husband Al continue to recognize the grace of God throughout life’s challenges. She remains faithful and assured in a bright future. “Our family received an outpouring of kindness when I had breast cancer, and our hope is to continue to pay it forward.”
