Since its inception in 2003, Home for Healing has served more than 5,000 patients and families. Although many are from Arkansas, others come to the state to be treated at area medical centers. Providing convenient and affordable accommodations in a peaceful + restorative environment in the heart of the Capital City, Home for Healing is a beacon of hope during a journey back to wellness.

Stuart Cobb remembers her initial introduction to the organization. “I became involved because of Robin Dean, just like everyone else. She was an inspiration and full of ideas, I’ve been here since the beginning.” Stuart remains a passionate advocate and will be recognized with the Healing Impact Award at Monster Bash later this month.

Home for Healing Executive Director Kristin Trulock guarantees this year’s Monster Bash will not disappoint. “It’s one of the largest costume contest fundraisers in Arkansas,” she explains. “We’re planning live music with fantastic finger foods and an amazing live auction.” While the fun + festivities are certainly highlights of the evening, the continued mission fulfillment work of Home for Healing is never far from the spotlight. “Patrons who support us financially as well as with their time and energy really make it all possible. Stuart Cobb reflects the compassionate nature of our home and the heart of the services we offer to our guests who would otherwise not be able to receive treatments.”

We welcome volunteers like Stuart who help make dinners and are a soothing presence for our guests,” says Kristin. “All of the proceeds from Monster Bash stay in Central Arkansas at Home for Healing to help our guests who are underinsured or uninsured and are in financial need.”

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is an imposing and impressive campus situated in midtown Little Rock. At UAMS, a world-class team of experts inspires patients every day and it’s a landmark along the West Markham corridor. For many families, it is the small structure across from the UAMS campus that also makes a big difference. “I love the mission of the home,” Stuart reflects. “We welcome distressed parents of babies that are in the NICU. They often arrive unexpectedly and don’t know how long they will stay with us. It’s their home until their child is better and is such a special place for so many in need.”
