Mortgage Loan Officer

Arvest Bank – Central Arkansas

DAY AT WORK

No two days in mortgage lending look the same, and that is something I love about my work with Arvest. A typical day might begin with making sales calls, reviewing loan files or structuring solutions for buyers, then be followed by calls with potential homebuyers navigating the process for purchasing a home. Some days also include volunteering for local causes I’m passionate about and honored to support.

CAREER EVOLUTION

Before becoming a lender, I was a registered nurse, which taught me to stay calm under pressure, advocate for people and explain complex information in a clear and reassuring way. My career evolved from caring for patients to guiding families through making one of the most important financial decisions of their lives.

SURPRISING BUT TRUE

While lending may not seem like a STEAM-related career, it truly is. Every day, we use detailed guidelines, numbers and technology to find solutions that make sense for each customer we work with.

ADVICE

Young women considering careers in STEAM may be surprised to learn how people-focused these fields can be. STEAM is about more than numbers and technology; it is also about using knowledge and innovation to improve lives. Skills like communication, empathy and integrity are just as important as technical expertise.
